The holiday was registered by State Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on December the 1st, 2010. The idea of the new holiday, is belonging to one Ukrainian marriage agency, but many partner -agencies of different countries such as USA, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland picked up.

Back to the history, the first marriage agency was opened more than 360 years ago! It was the ” Office of Addresses and Encounters ” in
Threadneedle Street, London on September the 29th, 1650 -historically documented first dating service. The owner of this marriage agency was Henry Robinson (c. 1604 – c. 1664) – an English merchant and writer. While travelling around Holland Henry was impressed by by the freedom of inhabitants of that country  and their traditions. So he had a decision to open the dating service.

Alas, Robinson’s marriage agency was closed  in a year as the actions of his office were contradicting the law. The concrete claims were exposed to the questions in the clients’ profiles. They were about the way people obtain the income, about the size of the property, about real estate existence. This was accepted as an attack on private life secrets.

When the dating service was closed, Henry did not stop to help people and opened a shelter for beggars. But the question is” how many couples could unite under enterprising Henry’s wing?!” if the authorities did not accuse him so unfairly!!!!

Since the search of the spouse via announcement or via dating services became very popular. My first impression was in the airport, where two customers did hold me back for about 20 minutes, they wanted to know some stuff I have bought in Istanbul  airport, it was some perfume and small souvenirs, I don´t know why they did it because their English was not very good, but after about 20 minutes I could go.

Now I will tell you some small things from my days in Ukraine.

I had an experience where I went to the bank and wanted to change some dollars into hrynias, but the bankier just shaked her head, and she could not understand any English at all, I tried to explain her that I wanted to change some money, but no, I had to go without changing any of my money.
I then had to use my credit card, it is possible to pay with it almost everywhere – I mean in the shops and also in the restaurants.

There are plenty of beautiful girl women ladies just in the streets of any town/city /village… This fact is amazing – I have travelled all over the world and never seen so many beauties just this way… I mean usually there not so many pretty women walking in the streets – maybe in some fancy places or maybe you can see a pretty face on TV or just behind the window of the car…. There are plenty of them here and you feel like in paradise because of this )))

Some of the positive I will tell is that there are many nice people in Ukraine, many helpful people, there are also many nice places.

I had a really nice  time there where I saw such a big difference from my country.
I hope my next time will be a little better : ) just want to meet a girl with whom we are corresponding for a while here on this site. To be honest I’m glad that I have found this matchmaking site everything I’ve read about it sounds very truthful, sincere and concrete, but most of all there are also lovely ladies whom seem to also have hearts that reflect the same truth and everlasting love about them. I’ve always been seeking to have a life partner that has that magnetic charm and beauty in my eyes but also a heart that is dedicated to her partner forever and a day!

There are some American women who are like that, but I think not as many. I also think that Ukrainian women take care of themselves with great dignity and care. My present lady with whom I am communicating via this site is a perfect example of that. And European Women in general are more mature.

Too many American women are grown up children. I am not bitter about that. I have had two wonderful women in my life, and many girlfriends, but now I am of an age where a woman’s value system and maturity are most important to me, so that’s why I am here.

Yes, I also want a woman with whom I can do many different things because she has enthusiasm for life. But that woman must also want the tender moments at home with the Man she loves and who loves her. If I can find such a Woman in Ukraine, I would be a happy man, and I would provide a very good life for her.

I live a good life, I don’t have to worry about money, I live in a beautiful City, but there is a hole in this picture that needs someone to fill it – I hope and even sure that this is she. A man and a woman should complement each other, complete each other, not just have the same interests. They must be best friends. They must come home and be happy that the other is there to greet them, to smile and kiss, and to share everything, from the little things in their day, to the most important things of family and friends.

The first time I saw her profile on this site I see immediately, from her smile and her words, that she is an honest and sincere Woman. I appreciate that she is also very beautiful.

I hope to see her soon – I just ordered the tickets… and I am sure if I fall in love with her, it will not be with her picture, but with the Whole Woman.

This year the Easter in Ukraine is on Sunday, April 15, 2012

Ukrainian Easter is called Velykden (that means the Great Day). Two weeks following the Catholic Easter Holiday is the main Christian Orthodox Holiday established to honor the Resurrection of Jesus Christ following his crucifiction on the cross and to the coming out of the Jews from Egypt. The date of Easter is usually determined by the Church calendar and calculated according to the so-called “Paskhalias” (the name for the “special tables”.) Before and during Easter people buy or bake Easter cakes (special biscuits with raisins), and hand paint eggs widely known as Pysanka or Krashenka.

Easter cake (’Kulich’) and painted eggs (’Krashanki’) are the symbols of Ukrainian Easter and obligatory food on the table this day. Kulich is baked from yeast dough in the form of cylinder. Krashanka is a boiled and painted egg. On this Day Ukrainian kids play their favorite Easter game: knocking the eggs. If you knock somebody’s egg and you egg is not broken than you are the winner. 

It is a very important holiday. On Easter night people go to their local churches, spending the whole night in Church praying and listening to the services! Usually Ukrainians take with them Easter cakes, painted eggs, sausages, salo, bottles of wine, and other food with also a knife and some salt in their baskets. In the morning (about 4 -5 am) the service concludes with the clergyman sprinkling all food with sacred water which is believed to give strong healing powers.

At this time people return home or visit their friends and relatives to continue the celebration with food and drink throughout the the day. The traditional greeting on this day is: “Khrystos Voskres!” or “Khrystos narodivsya”(Christ is arisen) and the answer “Voyistynu Voskres!” or “Slavymo Yiogo”(Truly arisen) followed with kisses and the exchanging small gifts.

Of course usually the men are congratulating the women – strangers just with the words or the gifts are something small, like some sweets or even a small bunch of spring flowers. When I got there all the ladies were different from the profiles and some were not even available. When I saw some of the ladies, they were so different that I was shocked and this is where the problem came from.
